Wow! It appears nearly two months have gone by without a post! In the meantime, I graduated from my program (with honors!), moved out of my pleasant cottage, re-packed my wee truck, and had a cross-country adventure that included a visit to the National Stringed Instrument Museum in Vermillion, South Dakota. While the move was uneventful, I had an absolutely wonderful time visiting the museum, where the curators generously shared their time with my. The NSIM has a fabulous collection of Flattop and archtop guitars, including the entirety of the D’Angelico/D’Aquisto workshop. I cannot describe the feeling of being able to get up close and personal with such amazing instruments. I’ll let some of the picture speak for themselves.
As for me, I’m back in Portland, working as a bicycle mechanic and gearing up for some guitarmaking…much more to come, but I’ll be renting some bench space in a lovely woodshop, and spending as much time building new instruments as possible. Onward!

Continue to seek your passion. it is definitely working for you. You definitely look like you belong in Mrs Honey’s 50’s Cadillac!
Ok Chris….. now that we are moving to Sonoma I want to see you when you head back to Cali.
